Tropismos digitais

Tropismo é um conceito muito usual em biologia e que se refere ao crescimento, e movimento, que acontece principalmente com as plantas. E, como ele é condicionado, grandemente, pelo ambiente externo. A força menor cede ante a força maior, a resistência menor cede ante a insistência maior mesmo que esta esteja sendo exercida pela força menor, etc., etc.
Conseguem ver o que vejo?

Precisa de explicação e a faço. (Sim Francis, vou parar de ler dicionários! Prometo...)
Estive (re)lendo os comentários deste post hoje de manhã e percebo que todos declararam estarmos frente a uma mudança de atitudes. Uma mudança que (estejamos cientes dela ou não) já nos atinge fisicamente como uma praga. Como qualquer doença, não respeita raça, gênero, idade ou "conta bancária" -já diria o HTorloni. Mas, o que me chamou a atenção desta re-leitura, foi o quadro que se me apresentou: tropismo(s).
Confesso que é uma mistura do que tenho lido e escrito.


Juntamos, leia-se: somamos, gente à tecnologia.
Em pontos focais, ao redor do mundo, criam-se tecnologias cada vez mais avançadas. A produção em escala industrial e seus processos criam mercados e consumo. Vejam que, como acontece com as plantas que desviam seu crescimento ao encontrar um obstáculo intransponível, a sociedade mudou ao ser indiscriminadamente exposta à tecnologia.
Dai tropismos...

Entendem agora porque falei "somamos"? Somamos "smart gadgets" às pessoas.
Lamentavelmente, desta soma não retiramos "smartpeople", continuamos tão gente (como em mensch) quanto dantes. Como já antes tinha comentado neste blog.
Não melhores, apenas despidos de alguns "atavismos", chamemos-lhes assim. Grande parte da nossa memória a passamos, sem pestanejar, para as nuvens sem chegarmos a entender o que signifique nefelibata, por exemplo.

Expomos-nos a estas novas tecnologias, como já o fizemos antes com o rádio e a televisão. Tecnologias que foram ficando cada vez mais interativas e ubiquitas, e que não parecem ter perdido momento durante toda sua evolução, mas muito pelo contrário. Sua evolução fica todo dia mais rápida.

Enquanto isso, no outro braço da equação... mmm...
Nossas crianças aprendem mais rápido!
Nossas crianças respondem a estímulos de cores e sons. Elas escutam melhor que qualquer adolescente que fique ligado a fones ouvindo música e a nada mais. Bach, Beethoven, Shakespeare, não se fizeram ouvir por mais gente, gritando nem aumentando o volume das suas composições. E ainda somos capazes de reconhecer trechos ínfimos delas num assovio passageiro, num comentário sem importância.
As artes evoluíram como nunca antes!
Depois que Gronk descobriu que pintar parede de cavernas dava status, o mundo nunca mais foi o mesmo. Apareceu o primeiro "designer de interiores" do mundo!


Podemos fazer muito mais coisas no mesmo espaço de tempo!
Temos muito mais tecnologia para fazê-lo. Qual a graça? Temos que insistir que "essas coisas" tenham sentido e utilidade não somente para seu criador.
Podemos imaginar quase qualquer coisa que queiramos!
Com toda essa tecnologia a calcular por nós, ainda me surpreendo que consigamos pensar por nós mesmos. E, em alguns casos, confesso, que tenho certeza que não o andamos fazendo lá muito bem. Vejam o seguinte argumento muito popular ultimamente em SP: para protestar contra as deficiências do sistema de transportes urbano, queimamos (e/ou deixamos queimar) os elementos desse mesmo transporte que estão funcionando.
Encontrem a lógica desse discurso!

De modo algum sou contra a tecnologia, sou muito a favor dela. Me diverte e alivia.
Contudo, e insisto neste ponto (a tal tecla que vivemos apertando): precisamos evoluir como raça.
Pensar, amar, respeitar-nos uns aos outros. Ultimamente para cada novo relacionamento precisamos -ANTES- assinar um contrato de adesão! Cheio de letrinhas miúdas em legalês e recomendações confusas.
Não era mais fácil quando eram somente dez?

Em algum lugar esquecemos o metrônomo do coração, como dito por Villa-Lobos.
E ainda tem muito mais

Advice, Like Youth, Probably Just Wasted On The Young

Inside every adult lurks a graduation speaker dying to get out, some world-weary pundit eager to pontificate on life to young people who'd rather be Rollerblading. Most of us, alas, will never be invited to sow our words of wisdom among an audience of caps and gowns, but there's no reason we can't entertain ourselves by composing a Guide to Life for Graduates.


I encourage anyone over 26 to try this and thank you for indulging my attempt.

Ladies and gentlemen of the class of '97:
  • Wear sunscreen. If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience. I will dispense this advice now.
  • Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. Oh, never mind. You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they've faded. But trust me, in 20 years, you'll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked. You are not as fat as you imagine.
  • Don't worry about the future. Or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind, the kind that blindside you at 4 pm on some idle Tuesday.
  • Do one thing every day that scares you.
  • Sing.
  • Don't be reckless with other people's hearts. Don't put up with people who are reckless with yours.
  • Floss.
  • Don't waste your time on jealousy. Sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind. The race is long and, in the end, it's only with yourself.
  • Remember compliments you receive. Forget the insults. If you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
  • Keep your old love letters. Throw away your old bank statements.
  • Stretch.
  • Don't feel guilty if you don't know what you want to do with your life. The most interesting people I know didn't know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives. Some of the most interesting 40-year-olds I know still don't.
  • Get plenty of calcium. Be kind to your knees. You'll miss them when they're gone.
  • Maybe you'll marry, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll have children, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll divorce at 40, maybe you'll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary. Whatever you do, don't congratulate yourself too much, or berate yourself either. Your choices are half chance. So are everybody else's.
  • Enjoy your body. Use it every way you can. Don't be afraid of it or of what other people think of it. It's the greatest instrument you'll ever own.
  • Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room.
  • Read the directions, even if you don't follow them.
  • Do not read beauty magazines. They will only make you feel ugly.
  • Get to know your parents. You never know when they'll be gone for good. Be nice to your siblings. They're your best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.
  • Understand that friends come and go, but with a precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle, because the older you get, the more you need the people who knew you when you were young.
  • Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard.
  • Live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.
  • Travel.
  • Accept certain inalienable truths: Prices will rise. Politicians will philander. You, too, will get old. And when you do, you'll fantasize that when you were young, prices were reasonable, politicians were noble, and children respected their elders.
  • Respect your elders.
  • Don't expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund. Maybe you'll have a wealthy spouse. But you never know when either one might run out.
  • Don't mess too much with your hair or by the time you're 40 it will look 85.
  • Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia. Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

But trust me on the sunscreen.
