Earlier today while viewing "Talks at Google" featuring Malcolm Gladwell as speaker, he said two things that stopped me cold at my tracks for a while.
He said:
"Elite Institution Cognitive Disorder (EICD) is the mistaken belief that attending the most elite institution you can get into is always in your best interest."
and further on, he went:
"Desirable difficulty (bjorks) is a class of difficulties that have paradoxical outcomes that force you to do things that end up being advantageous."
I'll hang on to these two for a bit and will juggle them around my head to see what happens. But something I already know: I liked them both in their complex simplicity.
Just thinking out loud.
